My dear friend Lala give me as a present when she sent me my haul of beauty products last week. She thinks I am over-obsessive with neutral and brown palettes so I should properly celebrate Spring with some refreshing spring looking colors... So she sent me this Shiseido Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes Palette in BL 711.
BL 711 is a palette that consists of a pale yellow with shimmers (mainly for hightlights), pale moss green (as main color), a baby blue (for the outer corners of the eyes), and a taupe-y brown (for tight-lining at outer corners and outer lower lash line.
Swatches on my arm:
|Under natural daylight|
|Under indoor lighting, you can see some sparkles|
As you can see, the colors are quite sheer (and I already swatch it with my fingers 3 times on my arm too!) It's common that MJ's eye palette colors being a bit sheer, but I am ok with the paler colors because if these colors are too pigmented, I would not have wanted to apply to my eyes, as I am afraid that these colors will make my eyes look like a clown!
The below is the information on the eye palette we can find on MJ's website:
It seems like the colors appear to be more pigmented on the model's eyes, or maybe the model has paler skin so these light colors would pop out more?
Now, my EOTD:
It's quite sheer right? Not as pigmented as the model's eye makeup on the website?
I do like the taupe color a lot, but unfortunately, it's the only color that has significant fall-out. (yes, why my favorite of the 4 colors in the palette?) I have a lot of clean up to do after I finish applying the eye shadow. What a shame!
But overall this is a good palette for the spring. Though the weather here hasn't warm up, I believe this palette is giving me hopes of spring is not far away!!
