Mizuho Powder Brush

Along with my recent beauty haul of My Beauty Diary masks, I have also hauled 2 Mizuho brushes and one of them is the Powder Blush.

Bobbi Brown actually sells their version of Powder Brush for a whopping $60usd+tax.

MAC also has a powder brush which is their 138 tapered face brush for $52usd+tax. Still pricey :(

I got mine for $380hkd.

Powder Brush is actually a very nice and versatile brush that pick up just the right amount of powder from loose foundation or 2-way cake foundation so the application of foundation won't look too cakey on your face (see Mizuho's video demo on this brush here). In addition, because of the shape of this brush, it can be used as a blush brush, contouring, setting concealer, or even a highlighter brush. Just make sure you wipe of the excess blush powder before using it as highlight or you will end up getting a Rudolph the reindeer nose!

And the other thing is Bobbi Brown brushes are typically made in China. Mizuho's brushes are made in Japan, that's certain a plus and great quality assurance!

Close up of the brush:

The hairs are super soft and they are really dense. The brush pick up just the right amount of powders and when using it as a blush brush, I like how nice and soft the blush was applied on to my face. I actually prefer this more than my MAC 168 large angle contour brush as the 168 gives me a hard blush application on my cheeks.

This brush is particularly useful when traveling because I can use it multi-purposely for setting foundation, applying blush, or even highlighting. One less thing to carry around when traveling is definitely a good thing!

For more information, please check out Mizuho's website at http://mizuhobrush-shop.com/

(unfortunately, the site does not ship internationally, and I am not sure where else people can order this online from... sorry girls!)

mizuho brand is new to me, it reminds me of banks:) How does it compare with Sigma brush?

haha, it is indeed sharing the same name with a Japanese bank! I do not own any Sigma brushes so I can't compare... but I prefer this brush over the MAC because I can tell the hairs are softer and denser! And this brush is also a one for all purpose brush so it's perfect for travelling!

there is always quality assurance when you buy products made in Japan. I am in love with this brush.

I think the only way to get this brush in Singapore is to either order from Japan or visit the store in HK to get them.... there isnt other online retailers that carry this brand at this moment....
