Physicians Formula Deal 2 - CVS

As requested by Jie Jie, I am out in search for Physicians Formula items to be sent to her in Singapore later in the month. According to her, PF is not available in Singapore.


So, it's time to pull out a little extreme couponing technique here.


For this week (May 15-21, 2011), CVS is running a $6 off for PF's foundation, loose powder, concealer, blush, and bronzers.


Jie Jie wanted PF's Mineral Wear Correcting Primer, and they are normally $10.99+tax.

I scanned this item at the price checker and it is $6 off as well, bringing it down to $4.99


As some of you may know, there is a $5 off Eye Booster or any other Physicians Formula product manufacturer's coupon (expires June 15, 2011) somewhere online:

So that brings down another $5. However the sale price for the primer is $4.99. Do I get 1 cent back? The answer is no. The system doesn't even take in the PF manufacturer's coupon because it's value is over the item. The cashier has to manually input the coupon with a $4.99 value to make the system work.


End results? Voila:

Total .00, today you saved $10.99

Physicians Formula Deal 1 - Ulta

For this week (May 15-21, 2011) Ulta is hosting a buy 2 get 1 free for all Physicians Formula items.

The 2-in-1 Eye Booster has sparkled my interests lately because beauty gurus like Fuzkittie and MisoJenny says that this is a pretty good dupe for Koji's Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner.

But the Dolly Wink eyeliner is at a hefty price tag of $18.99 at my local Asian market place (or similar price range online with shipping) so if I can get a deal for PF, it may be worth trying.

MisoJenny has recently spotted a twin pack that comes with a bonus clear serum at her local Target. And this time during my visit at Ulta, I spotted them too! But there are only 3 boxes of Ultra Black and 2 boxes of Black left. Of course I opt in for the Ultra Black because I also read that even with Ultra Black, it's pigmentation is not as deep as the Dolly Wink's.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in 7324 Natural

Lately I have been running rounds to my local drugstore, CVS, because my friend in Japanese would like to try some drugstore brand cosmetics from America.

Little did I know that with the use of coupons and CVS Extra Bucks rewards that savings can be that significant for certain brands at CVS!!

For instance, CVS is running a $6 off for all Physicians Formula foundation, blushes and bronzers. And there is an additional $4 savings from the manufacturer's coupon "peelies". These retails for $11.99 at my local CVS and the grand total is a mere $1.99 plus tax. It's a deal, right?

I have bought these Physicians Formula Happy Booster blushes before for my other friends but I have not yet tried them myself. It's been a long time since I have been using drugstore brands (like college maybe?) and I think I would like to try drugstore brands once again. Wouldn't it be great to buy good quality drugstore cosmetics at a bargain price?

I have picked up this Happy Booster blush in Natural. I have plently of pigmented blushes and I wanted something natural for an non dramatic blushy glow. The hearts on the blush are just wayyy too adorable!

Lifting the blush compartment, you will see a mirror and the blush brush that it came with.

The brush is a dual colored synthetic fiber brush but it's quite rough. I think it maybe better off to just use my own MAC blush brush^^

I know I am supposed to swirl all colors but I wonder if the individual hearts will show some difference in the colors, and voila:

And when applied to my cheeks, to the left before blush, and to the right after applying blush:

It does give my face a healthy non-dramatic glow. ME LIKE! And I especially like the fact I got it for 2 bucks!

At the back of the package, it claims this blush has a sweet scent of Violet and will give a mood boosting effect. It does smell like something sweet, but very very faint. Do I really feel happier? I don't know, but I am happy because I got a great deal with a bunch of drugstore cosmetics haul!!

Ever since I posted my blog post on the deal on Physicans Formula Happy Booster Blush deal at CVS, my friend Lala would like to try the blush as well since PF is not available at her country. So I went back to CVS yesterday.

I have accumulated several coupons and found better savings for the manufacturer's coupon ($4 off peelies)

Woot!

A wooping total of $6.35 for 2 blushes, and that's after tax too! Just about 3 bucks for a blush!

So the breakdown of the coupons I used:

$4 peelies (manufacturer's coupon) *2 = $8

$7 CVS Extra Care Bucks, 

$3 off $15 CVS purchase.

This week at CVS (week ending Saturday,  March 5) you will get $7 Extra Care Bucks back of a purchase of $10 Physician's Formula.

My dear blogger friend in Japan would like to try out Physician's Formula as this brand is not available in her county and I heard raves about this Happy Booster blush, why not give it a try and make myself a little happier?

This is how the deal works.

First, purchase the first Happy Booster blush at its regular price, at $11.99+ tax in CVS.

Then you will get this at the end of your receipt:

In my case, I got this extra offer, $3 off a $15 purchase:

The deal will be sweeter if you can find manufacturer's coupon peelies around the Physician's Formula shelf area, which looks like this:

Now, grab 2 Happy Booster blushes and back to the check out. Your total will be:

$11.99*2 - $3 of $15 - $7 Extra Bucks - $3*2 manufacturer's coupon = $ 7.98 +tax

Average out the 3 blushes you bought, each blush cost $6.65. The deal would have been sweeter if there is a buy one get one free/50% off offer, but not too bad!
